CBD can absolutely be classed as a safe compound. According to the WHO: “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.”
“CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile. Reported adverse effects may be as a result of drug-drug interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications.”
Well, not in the way you think. It’s technically possible to overdose on anything – having too much water can kill you…
CBD is non-toxic and very difficult to overdose on. However, on rare occasions, having more than you need could cause side effects such as appetite change and drowsiness. But again, this is very rare.
Nonetheless, as a precautionary measure, the UK Food Standards Agency recommend the following:
– Not to exceed 70mg of CBD per day.
– To avoid using CBD while pregnant or breastfeeding.
– Consult with a doctor before using CBD if you are taking any medication.
