  1. I would have an interest however, this already exists. I once had Vanguard and Fidelity do this very thing and it's free. You will talk with a real person and they will ask questions and in a few weeks you will get a plan. You can then go with one of their people for a small fee or go with the robo advisor and that is less expensive. Bottom line? Diversification and you do it with Vanguard only with ETFs. But if you insist you're welcome to go the mutual fund route. Dave Ramsey still only promotes mutual funds but that is a bit old school.
